Catering to Individual Owners and Major
Offshore Fleets
Abu Dhabi Ship Building has excellent facilities for the repair
of Commercial vessels. The Mussafah Shipyard on the outskirts
of Abu Dhabi is constantly busy carrying out all types of work,
from minor repairs to major overhauls of Hull Structures, Machinery
and Accommodation Outfitting. Clients range from Private Pleasure
Boat Owners to Dredging Companies and Oil Industry Offshore
Fleets.
Routine Maintenance to Major
Upgrades
Each year, ADSB handles approximately 200 repair and upgrade
work contracts involving drydocking, painting and repair and
maintenance work although some repair or refit work is also
performed off-site or afloat. The vessels include Tugs, Barges,
Landing Crafts, and a variety of Oil Industry Work Boats, including
Crew Boats, Diving Vessels, Supply and Safety Vessels and Anchor
Handling Boats.
Long-Term Maintenance Contracts for Public and
Private Sector
Oilfield Services Company ESNAAD and the Oil Terminal Operator
IRSHAD, both subsidiaries of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, have
long-term drydocking agreements with ADSB. Long-term maintenance
contracts allow greater efficiencies for both parties, enabling
them to plan drydocking of ships well in advance, without having to
go through the process of separate tendering for each individual
job.
Other prominent owners that entrust their vessels to ADSB
include the Dutch Companies, Boskalis, Vaan Oordz and Damen Marine
Services, while UAE companies include Al Seer Marine and National
Marine Dredging Company.
Extensive Facilities for Steel, Aluminium and
Composites
ADSB caters to vessels up to 2,000 tonnes on the extensive dry
berths, or up to 105 meters on the wet berths at the Mussafah
Shipyard. Mobile teams are available 24 hours a day to carry out
repairs at locations throughout the Gulf region.
ADSB is the only Shipyard in the region with the capability to
build and repair vessels in steel, aluminium and composite
materials. The Composite Workshop, which is the most advanced in
the region, builds, repairs and upgrades vessels for both military
