Chairman's message
Abu Dhabi Ship Building continues to be recognised as the
region's premier builder of naval, military and commercial vessels;
the impressive growth and business performance Abu Dhabi Ship
Building did demonstrate fills me with great pride and I am
convinced that our continued efforts to raise the bar of excellence
will ultimately create further business opportunities and attract
global attention to the region's rapidly growing maritime
industry.
The impressive achievements of ADSB in the past speaks highly of
the commitment, dedication and hard work of the entire ADSB
workforce, which now accounts for over 1,200 shipbuilding and ship
repair specialists. Furthermore it is also a testament to a vision
and exceptional leadership qualities of the ADSB Board and
Management team.
Building on the impressive past, ADSB is now strongly positioned
to sustain the positive growth trend in the years to come. In line
with this, I am pleased to say that our existing contracted work
continues to be worth in excess of AED 3 billion. And we are poised
to further growth as the ADSB Board is now delivering on a growth
plan that seeks to push the company to a whole new level of
business performance ultimately enhancing shareholder value and
contributing to the economic and social development of Abu
Dhabi.
As such, I reaffirm ADSB's strong commitment to support and help
ensure the success of the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030. To this end, ADSB
is heavily involved in academic courses in support of the
governments Emiratisation program, benefiting UAE national
students. We are likewise continuing to develop new initiatives
that reinforce our status as a socially proactive organisation.
Our continued pursuit of excellence and business growth is in
line with the vision of H.H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan,
President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi and H.H Sheikh Mohammed
Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Indeed we are
greatly thankful for their vision, leadership and continued strong
support to the business community, particularly in the maritime
industry.
The encouraging support from our country's highest officials,
the world-class workmanship of our workforce and the inspired
leadership of the ADSB Board and Management are certainly important
ingredients that will enable us to continue to be a leader in the
Abu Dhabi Maritime Industry.
